Surveys - useful or not?
04/08/2020Actually, what are the surveys for?
In today's post, we'll take a closer look at the topic of surveys, and more specifically, we'll introduce some useful tools for creating them. Why, surveys? It's still an underestimated (although less and less so now) form of opinion polling in Poland.
Thriving Social Media is an excellent source of opinions, comments, and going hand in hand with it, surveying customers will definitely improve the substantive quality of the feedback obtained. Further adopting the definition of a survey as a study, we follow the rules of such creation, so we need to adopt a methodology, that is, such "measurement tools" as a rating scale, etc. A good idea when creating surveys - assuming that we want to do this work professionally - is to take expert advice. Why? Well, if only because this one will select the appropriate tools for measuring quality under the direction of the market in which we operate. This will give you the answers that are most specific to your field of activity - you will simply be able to compare yourself with your competitors in the market.
The survey should be well thought out. Answer the question: WHAT do I want to find out? The use of open-ended questions is the golden rule for this type of survey, and in fact, this is where we should focus most of our attention. This form of "asking" customers for their opinions, carried out in a systematic, continuous way, will provide a wide range of information about what our customers expect, and therefore in what direction we should develop. The approach to inviting surveys itself is also important. Some companies use ( quite common) bonus survey techniques - that is, fill out a survey and we'll give you 5%, 10%, 13%, etc. on your next purchases. It is also important not to spam all users. Usually 1,300 completed surveys is enough to get statistical significance of the results.
Ok, we've gathered some very important rules when creating surveys, so let's introduce the programs used to create them.
- Typeform is a product that originated in Barcelona. The online software serves as a service for companies that specialize in creating forms and online surveys. Its main task is to make surveys dynamic based on user needs. The form is very easy to read, and the content is selected in such a way that the entire task takes the user as little time as possible.
- With Klaxoon, you have a wide range of applications at your disposal to stimulate group discussion. Productivity tools, training materials, experience sharing, voting, or so-called "word cloud" challenges. With the tool, time spent in meetings is halved and reports are generated automatically.
- In Google Form s you can plan your next tent camping trip, manage people's registration for training, conduct a quick poll, collect email addresses for a newsletter, prepare a test, etc. The tool provides an opportunity to add your logo, photo or avatar to personalize the overall image to your needs. You can also choose one of the ready-made themes offered by Google. You have many types of questions to choose from, such as multiple-choice questions, drop-down lists or a linear scale. Survey responses are automatically and neatly collected in Forms, and the response information and graphs are continuously updated. You can also display all this data in Sheets. The Forms themselves work quickly, so you can easily create, edit and fill them out on screens of any size.
- Webiankieta is a very powerful tool with a wide range of available functions. We can use as many as 18 different forms of questions to create surveys (e.g. drag-and-drop, drop-down list, multiple-choice test, etc.) The form layout itself can also be completely managed. We have the ability to select fonts, logos, and even choose our own text on the navigation buttons. Employee evaluations, tests, quizzes, emailing or web survey widgets are just a few of the options available on this device. The presentation of aggregate results in numbers, percentages and charts will give us very accurate answers to the questions we are interested in.
- SurveyMonkey is an easy-to-use tool for creating personalized online surveys.
SurveyMonkey Enterprise helps users across the organization access the right data so they can get the most out of it. Here we have full availability of data such as who logs in and how often, so that we can monitor usage and match survey activity between teams.
We have briefly described the most important features of several survey platforms. In the next article we will zoom in on the next "portion", because as we can see, these are great tools to improve the broad feedback of our company in the market.
