New Year's resolutions and our motivation
02/07/2020We all have certain dreams and goals that we would like to achieve to change our lives. Some of them are: getting a slim and fit body, learning a skill (such as a new language), starting a course or training, quitting a bad habit (smoking, stress eating or unhealthy 'junk food'), not watching too much TV and spending too much time using social media or simply not hanging out with people who don't appreciate us.
Unfortunately, we usually start having difficulty keeping our resolutions in mid-January. We encounter various difficulties: poor time management, ineffective strategy or lack of consistency and training. We quickly forget that we shouldn't get discouraged when we lose motivation on certain days. Unfortunately, we stop working hard to get the most out of our talents.
On another day, we can easily find the inner motivation that pushes us to take action, to get out of our comfort zone to achieve our goals. We should remember that if we realize our potential and promise, we have the opportunity to develop our professional career and business.
How do we stay motivated?
Here are some clever tips to keep us motivated and help us succeed on a daily basis. They are not simple, but with the right attitude they will help you achieve your goal. It's usually worth the effort, especially when you're thinking about making your dreams come true.
Let's look at strategies that will help you get back on track and make progress.
- Imagine your success and think about the positive aspects of it
Think aboutit every day when you wake up in the morning and before you go to bed at night. What benefits will you achieve? Imagine everything in detail, believe that it will happen and start now! Don't postpone your plans. Once you have made up your mind, give yourself 5 minutes to take the first step. - Start by taking a small or tiny step
Every small step brings you closer to your goals, so try to make progress as often as possible. You can start with the easiest step to see you make progress and become more optimistic. - Be kind to yourself
Remember, you deserve to be recognized for your success. Reward yourself for achieving certain goals, such as buying yourself something you wanted. Celebrate your success! - Focus on your goal
Don't let others or negative circumstances distract you. However, if that happens, get back on track and keep trying. Don't give up! - Get support from people who are important to you
Tell them about your plans so they have the opportunity to motivate you. This will give you extra energy and the opportunity to be rewarded for your success, or motivate you when your energy drops. - Listen to your favorite music or play a sport you like
This will help you become more energetic, optimistic and ready for action. Prepare a list of your favorite songs and listen to them. - Track your progress
You can do this in a notebook, on your computer or on your phone. When you make a note of what you've achieved, you can easily see how far you've come and how much you've accomplished. - Do a regular review of your goals
Read about people who have achieved what they dreamed of, learn from their stories, find strengths and weaknesses, build your action plan! - Regularly remind yourself why you decided to work on your goal and where it can take you
Spend a few minutes each day to analyze and consider your dreams and goals and think of reasons to motivate yourself. Remember the negative impact of staying where you are now... - Most importantly!
If you fail, don't be too hard on yourself. We are human and sometimes we fail to avoid mistakes, but we can become stronger next time. Just be constructive about your actions and failures.
Be unhappy. Or motivate yourself. Whatever you need to do, it is always your choice.
