Can stress management be learned?

06/29/2020

Studies show that chronic and daily stress affects almost half of Poles. It can paralyze and thus make work or daily activities impossible.

Stress can be controlled, you can even learn to manage it! To do this, you need to learn about the stressors, so that you can later develop a plan to prevent situations that can cause this stress.

Stress very often negatively affects the efficiency and commitment of an employee. Many times it also happens that a person who was once satisfied with his position suddenly resigns.

Why? There can be a myriad of reasons - working under time pressure, a flurry of duties, personal problems. Stress, paradoxically, can also cause monotonous tasks.

Many employees are also stressed by unclear contract terms or the complete lack of a contract.

Management should take care of their employees

Already at the stage of recruitment it is worth to clearly define the scope of responsibilities and present the path of development

It is also worth getting to know your employees - thanks to surveys conducted from time to time regarding occupational stress, you will find out to what extent this problem affects your company.

In addition to such surveys, observe. If a particular employee misses more and more days at work, or you notice a decline in his motivation or efficiency, it's worth having a frank conversation with him.

There is a lot of talk these days about employee development-topic training, workshops. Learning to control stress and developing emotional intelligence should be equally important.

So how do you learn to control stress?

Rest

Leisure time is just as important as time spent studying or working. It's important to strike a balance in every aspect of life. That's why you might want to let go of that overtime and spend some time with family or friends. A bike, a book, a home spa-such (enjoyable) opportunities are indeed numerous.

Don't hunch over

You may think that bad posture and stress have little to do with each other. However, it is worth knowing that there are stress and anti-stress postures. A hunched back, tense muscles, contorted body - all of these reduce energy levels and contribute to feelings of discouragement. In addition, an uplifted chest is associated with confidence and boldness - with such qualities it is easier to face adversity.

Find your hobby

Or devote yourself more to one you've already found! Moments for yourself are incredibly important if you want to take care of inner peace. Maybe you've long wanted to try horseback riding, but something more important always fell through? Or maybe running used to allow you to have a total mental reset? Ask yourself what makes you happy and do it!

Practice gratitude

Start with small steps, try before bedtime to list three things, situations, people - anything - for which you are grateful. After a while, you'll start noticing more and more of these positive aspects in your life. Your energy flows where your attention is- someone wise once said. So instead of focusing on the unpleasant moments, notice the good ones and attract them to you.

Stress at many stages of our lives is inevitable. However, there are many ways to deal with it, most of them simple changes that you can try to make in your life today and teach them to your loved ones.
