What is mental resistance?
Mental Resistance is an individual mental attitude and approach to everything we do. It is associated with traits such as character, endurance, courage, etc.
Mental Resistance is defined as:
- "A personality trait that largely affects the way a person responds to a challenge, stress, pressure, regardless of the circumstances in which they occur."
- Published research and research around the world point to Mental Resistance as a major factor in:
- Performance - affects about 25% of the difference in performance between different people

How can we assess mental resilience?
We can measure the components of mental resilience for a participant or group of participants. This is possible using a psychometric instrument consisting of 48 questions. MTQ48 is a normative and reliable measure and enables measurement of mental resistance before and after various types of training programs or coaching sessions.
Can we develop mental resilience?
Yes definitely! It is possible to develop a person's mental resilience or teach a person to behave someone who indicates high mental resistance. In both cases, we can see the benefits of developing mental resilience. AQR has a training program that is applicable in both cases.
