How to keep work-life balance?
03/09/2020Are you working more than 50 or maybe 60 hours per week? Maybe more….? Are you in a continuous stress? How to avoid the feeling of the never-ending tasks to do?
The answer is a work-life balance. What does it exactly mean? By Cambridge Dictionary it’s "the amount of time you spend doing your job compared with the amount of time you spend with your family and doing things you enjoy".
We have prepared a list of useful tips on how to keep work-life balance:
Avoid perfectionism
Life is more complicated than we can imagine. Our career is important, but we don’t want to burn out at work. For this reason, we should aim to do everything as well as possible but it shouldn’t be destructive. Keeping a list, plan or other reminders that help you track your time is a good idea to do so. Take about 15 minutes a day to do it and plan something just for yourself too.
Enjoy the moments in real life
We all know that different notifications distract us and usually cause stress. In fact, we need to limit time wasting activities and avoid checking social media notifications every time we receive some. Instead of doing that, we should spend quality time on our hobbies, starting a new course or training, meeting friends and our family. It is recommended for our mental being to set boundaries for our business and private life. Focus on the people, activities and things which make you happy the most.
Set healthy boundaries
Real life and our business are connected however our privacy is crucial. It’s necessary to keep boundaries flexible, because different things change on a daily basis. Remember to leave work at work however if it happens that you take your work tasks home with you, simply have a habit to work on them in a dedicated area only.
Work smarter, not harder
This is the last tip for today which we find extremely important. Ask yourself now, what are the most significant duties that you have and complete them first. Do not cut hours of your sleep. Just focus on the key components of your day, it will be easier to implement them in practice.
The above methods are necessary not only to keep a work-life balance but also to improve our relations with others. Just make it happen now, for yourself…
You will never feel truly satisfied by work until you are satisfied by life.
